BELGRADE, MOKRA GORA – The fire has spread on more than 25 ha on Saturday, reported Serbian daily Blic. 60 Gendarmerie members and additional helicopter have been hired to help put out the fast spreading fire.
Additional 200 members of the Department for Emergency situations and 50 vehicles have been hired to help.
On Friday, 63 firefighters have been hired to put out the fire that broke on Thursday on Mokra Gora, in Panjak, district Osojenica. The fire engulfed 15 ha of bushes in the coniferous forest in the tough terrain of the mountain Tara, reported Serbian daily Novosti.
According to the latest information, there are no injured.
Firefighters have been hired from Mokra Gora, Uzice, Cajetina, Pozega, Kosjeric, Gornji Milanovac and Valjevo with 19 fire trucks, and deployment of additional forces from Kraljevo, Kragujevac, Sabac and Prijepolje is expected.
Helicopter from the helicopter unit of Serbian MIA has been surveing the fire from the air.
Inaccessibility of the terrain and strong wind of changing directions are also making the extinguishing more difficult.
Department for Emergency Situations in MIA of the Republic of Serbia urges citizens, to prevent the fire or causing danger to the safety of others and properties, not to burn the grass and bushes outdoors.
